I am not trying to start a political thread....really! It's just that there have been a large number of requests by Montgomery County teachers to take the day off. I was what other districts are doing?
Just the facts please...there is a political thread for your passions on that front. |
DC Government will be closed on Inauguration Day. DS's private school in DC will be closed. |
DD's private school, in DC, will be closed. DS's private school in MD will be open. |
Our private school in MD is open, but I suspect they will end up closing as most of the teachers and families are planning on being downtown. I am taking my kids down to the inauguration - school or no. |
Arlington public schools are closed |
Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William are closed. |
OP here.
Thank you for your responses. I am also informed that Prince George's and Alexandria public schools are closed. I don't have the latest on Montgomery County. So here is a follow-on question: Are there options being provided for working families in public schools where parents don't have the day off and would need to use vacation leave or make other arrangements for their school-age children? For examples, are PTAs, school districts, individual schools or particular communities making plans in view of potential hardship for affected families? Note that my private sector employer will be closed so I am not directly affected but others in my son's public school will be. |
