Potty Training Naked

My SIL is potty training her 2 yr old. We are a very close family and get along very well and our kids are like brothers and sisters. HOWEVER... when she visits my home, she lets her son run around naked from the waist down. She says that he'll only use the potty if he is naked, but will pee if he has anything on "down below."

I know this issue, as I trained my kids the same way, BUT NOT IN OTHER PEOPLE'S HOMES!?!?!?! I'm pretty confident he won't pee anywhere, but I don't want his privates all over my furniture!!!! She keeps him really clean, but still!!! Am I being unreasonable????

That's nuts.

Tell her underwear in your house or play dates at her house until he's trained.

Personally, it's a silly way to train. Put them in underwear with pull down shorts or pants--nothing with buttons or zippers.

Ew. DS decided he doesn't like wearing pants at home, but the rule is wear underwear. And at someone else's house, you must wear pants.

We did the naked potty training, but it only lasted 3 or 4 days. It took them the first day to figure it out, then then next few to get better. Perhaps she is trying it too early. Mine were nearly 3.

He's 2 years old. Let him run naked...who cares, really? I don't understand being offended by a young child's "privates". Even if it offends you, seems a better option than urine-soaked furniture

Btw, pp here. I am training my child the same way - naked - but not at other homes or beyond our backyard. Instead I put him in loose, easy to remove (for me, he still struggles with it himself) clothing and remind him at regular intervals that he is not wearing a diaper and ask if he has to use the toilet.
