Manor Montessori K-3

Does anyone have any experience with this school?

Why the uniforms? (They seem uncomfortable)

Are they strictly Montessori? How are the academics?

Are the families friendly?

We have a child in Manor's preschool, and seriously considered pulling our other child out of another private school for Manor's elementary program. I was blown away by Ms. Barshay's class. The preschool program is kind of dinky & overcrowded, but the K-3 class is fabulous. It is a relatively small class, Ms. Barshay gets rave reviews from the parents, and watching her in action (I sat in and observed a class) was fantastic. The kids are all doing very advanced, interesting things and seemed genuinely engaged and interested. Ms. Barshay used to run her own Montessori school before coming on board to Manor. The families at the school are generally down to earth and friendly. I don't mind the uniforms -saves a lot of deciding what to wear in the morning and I haven't heard complaints from the kids. Go observe and see for yourself - the things she has the kids doing are pretty impressive.

The uniform just looks impractical and uncomfortable, the boys in those long ties, seems a bit dated too. I am all for a uniform, just a practical one.
I am glad to hear that the academics are good.
Does anyone compare it to Lone Oak?
