On a job you've applied to. I have applied to two jobs and either would be very a good opportunity for which I am well-qualified. I applied less than 2 weeks ago, both postings recently expired, and have been posted about 3-4 weeks.
When is it appropriate to follow up? I wish to express my interest but don't want to go overboard. One of the postings has been removed from the company's direct website, but one hasn't. Do most companies (one a non-profit, one a for-profit) close their advertisements once they have already hired someone, or once they wish to stop collecting applications and view what they've received? One has the email address for hiring which would presumably be easy to follow up with, and one is one of those application systems internal to the org. When is too soon to reach out? Any HR folks have thoughts? |
