| Do you live a simpler life today or do you live a lower standard of life today so that you have more money for tomorrow? |
Yes, and I know plenty of other people around here who do. (Not as low as we could, certainly, but less mortgage/car/vacations/stuff than we could, by far.) |
Anybody who saves anything would by definition fall into this category. We put away between $50 and $60K a year plus another $40K from investments. I could do a lot with that money today but id rather squirrel some away. |
| I save a little money sure, but after seeing two people close to me die very suddenly I want to enjoy my life now when I can. |
| Definitely! We have no credit card debt and put $$ away for retirement/college funds instead of going away on big vacations. |
| Nope. Paycheck to paycheck. |
| Nope, we don't make enough, so pay check to pay.....bills and mortgage monthly.......... |
| Finding a balance is tricky. For a long while I over saved for the future, and then I remembered I could get hit by a bus tomorrow. Money: You can't take it with you. |
| It is tough. As you get a little older, you do not want to/ have the ability to work as much. So it is nice to know you do not have to. So, yes, we do save for tomorrow. |
| Absolutely. I couldn't sleep at night if I lived paycheck to paycheck; our industries are too volatile for that. We do try to find balance, as PP's said, but right now we're saving about a third of our income. We don't feel deprived in doing so, which is key, or we wouldn't be able to sustain it. |
| Yes, there's nothing I want to buy. Not missing anything, don't want to spend just for the heck of it. |
This. And I just lost my job so it is going to be even tighter right now |
This. I don't really care to accumulate stuff and I don't buy clothes, cars, etc. to impress people. I bought a new car last year well below what I could afford and paid cash. |
