Long nails, especially toenails, gross me out

Does anyone else share this view? Some women seem to love the long- toenail pedicures look, and I have to avert my eyes. I can't stand nails that are not closely trimmed.

I was watching a show about a bakery and noticed several of the women decorators who use their fingers and nails to sculpt had long manicured nails. Seems like that could be unsanitary and and a PIA for them to keep their nails looking nice for long.

You're not alone. I have a friend who is a serious runner, yet she keeps longish toenails. I don't know how she can do it. They weird me out, too, especially on men.

Thanks for sharing.

She hasn't gotten runner's toe especially with long toenails?

Not as far as I know. She participates in long races (10k+) and triathlons. I don't get it. Maybe I should ask her if they ever cause problems.

How do you buy shoes? Wouldn't the extra length increase shoe size by at least a half?

I'm with you. I think long nails are gross, but especially on men.

I find people who notice the length of other peoples toenails to be an odd lot. My sister always comments on mine - I could not for the life of me tell you how long her toenails are. What a bizarre thing to focus on.

Long fingernails = fecal matter just waiting to transfer to you.

Long nails are tacky

Long toenails are disgusting. You see so many people wearing sandals in the summer who have no business putting their feet on display. I notice this especially on the Metro.

totally agree. i also think 90% of people (me included) have no business showing their toenails at all except in ultra-casual situations like beach, pool, pier, park. I dont think open toed shoes ever belong in an office environment. peep toe, sandals with cut-outs give the same summery effect without being too exposed.

Oh get over yourself. Shoes are hot in the summer. Should people suffer just to spare you a glance at their feet? I don't have long toenails but you are going overboard.

No, they shouldn't suffer, they should groom their feet. It's not that difficult.
