Oh yes. Grad students. A few of them behave like 3 year-olds but with less literacy, and then expect a degree for it. I sometimes wish I had gone into early childhood ed instead. I prefer my preschooler-like behavior in actual preschoolers.

Jeff, can you lock down that thread? I shouldn't have gone back and read the latest - my fault for being a voyeur - but the whole back-and-forth with Amy is escalating (naturally), and I just think it really hurts the integrity and purpose of this website.

And this particular thread clearly serves no continuing purpose -- unlike previous threads, it was purely a coupon offer, and she apparently already gave away the coupon, so it has no present utility other than to serve as a forum for hostility. And you know these threads never die on their own ... thank you.

I've asked that no one else add to the thread. It's my loss, my thread, my favor, and I think people should respect that. If Jeff wants to lock it, that's find with me, too. Life is short.

I am not the baiter. I may be the curser, but I don't start fights with people. I finish them -- sometimes not as well as I would have liked. If you look at the etiology of the thread, you will see that all I did was offer a damn coupon to someone in the community. I then went about my day and found out my dog had cancer. I logged on to DCUM as a distraction, and found a lot of people insulting me ---for offering a coupon -- and I responded. I responded knowing that my second dog would be dead in my arms in less than 12 hours.

There is no reason to ban me. Should we ban Norman Mailer, too? Whatever you may think of my turn of phrase or choice of words, a careful review of the history of of my posts since I have been back on this board will show that I am not picking fights with poeple. People who cannot let bygones be bygones -- who thrive on kindling and rekindling confrontation -- continue to try to allienate me from this community.

Despite their efforts, I have more supporters than detractors, which means a lot to me.

I be back to contribute when my grieving process is over.
