Seriously, you have to ask?

dcum is the worst place to ask about carlyle culture.

go to a financial forum instead. wso, wilmotts, etc.

if you are a candidate who is interviewing and in the industry you already know/have a good idea.

if you are not, you have almost no chance of getting in so there's no point in asking.

If you have to ask about PE you won't be working there anytime soon. The 22yo ugrads at Wharton and Harvard going into IB are already ahead of you.

Please, PPs, enlighten us little people about Carlyle Group. I am not interested in working there, not an a financial field, but I'm curious what makes it different, special, exclusive. I know of at least one person, a top exec at a big corporation, who went to Carlyle and was flushed out quickly because he wasn't accomplishing what they wanted. I know of another person who's a CFO at a Fortune 500 company who was at Carlyle for a few years. Makes in the mid 7 figures, so I get that Carlyle pays well and is exclusive. But what else? Please, tell us, the groundlings want to be entertained by the high and mighty.
