At what age did you switch your large breed puppy to adult dog food?

| Curious--we have gotten mixed messages from different sources such as the Vet and other large breed dog owners. Some say to switch to adult food by 4 mo. to prevent PANO and others are saying wait til dog is 1 yr to switch to adult food...thoughts? thanks! |

| We have a Lab mix that is about 55lbs. When he was 6-7 months our vet told us to stop the puppy food and switch him to the adult stuff. She said he didn't need all the extra fat in the puppy food. |
