Infertility Support and Discussion
Is it at all possible to have your trigger shot, schedule your IUI 36 hours later and you still not O? My temps have not shown a rise and I am 2DPIUI today and am concerned I haven't O'd yet.
Don't know, but now I am kind of freaked out. I have a IUI "scheduled" to this weekend (if all goes well), and didn't think such thing was possible.
How long have you been temping? Do you typically see a temp shift when you O? 2 thoughts. 1- temping is not for everyone. I don't O on my own so my temps never showed the typical tri-phasic shifts that everyone on fertilty friend gets all excited about. Or, if you are new to temping, you may have just missed the shift 2- Even if you do O late, your hubby's swimmers will survive for several days up there so they can still find the egg. Is your dr monitoring you? Did you have an ultrasound to confirm that you had one or more eggs to release?
Not Op...but are you sure the sperm will survive the "usual" time without the benefit of the cervical mucus? I am not trying to be nasty or anything..just really concerned/a little bit freaked out. Op, did you call your RE? What did he say? |
OP here. I am not new to temping. I have been temping for over a year and I have always had clear temp shifts. This is my 3rd IUI and the cycles before that I had temp shifts to confirm ovulation. This is why I am concerned. Our RE does not do u/s after the IUI so I don't have any confirmation for sure if the egg released. I've been told that washed sperm can only live for 24-72 hours but after 24 hours they lose motility and quality. Washed sperm are not like normal sperm and cannot live as long. This morning my temp did shift. We BD last night just in case thankfully. I'm just really annoyed because now I feel that the IUI was pointless since the sperm from the procedure or probably no longer viable.
