Babysitter- end of summer present/bonus

Anonymous
We've had a babysitter for many weeks this summer. Her last week is approaching and I am thinking about what to give her as a thank you. She is a college student. Should we just give her money? How much? Gift card? We already gave her a more personal gift earlier in the summer.

I was a nanny two summers in college. Both times the families gave me a generous cash bonus at the end of the summer, and it was the best. I don't recall how much it was for the first family, but the second family doubled my paycheck for the last week.

A week's pay.

A week's pay seems like a lot. Isn't that what professional nannies get for a whole year's work? Rather than just a summer.

Agree. That's a Holiday bonus for a full year nanny.

$100 would be nice.

Cheap, cheap, cheap.

I was also thinking $100.

We have always given our summer nannies between $50-100. Every one of them has said it's the most they've every gotten, so I think the "week's pay" PPs are either nannies or delusional!

What would you give a summer babysitter?

bump --we would like to give a good gift our 20-something, local teacher summer sitter.

Any suggestions for gifts other than this, and for the cash amount?
