Houzz-like site for people with more modest homes?

I love the design ideas on Houzz, but most of them are just beyond my financial reach, and beyond what would work in my modest home. Is there another site out there to give me more ideas for more modest homes and more modest incomes?

THanks!

I like HGTV's Rate my Space (I was JUST looking at it a second ago)

I'm also partial to IKEAHackers and the IKEA Share Space site.

I have found lots of good design ideas on Pinterest as well.

There is a website called Knock Off Decor that has some good ideas.

You might also want to check out Better Homes and Garden - they do some special publications that deal with budget design and decorating.

Apartment therapy?

Definitely Apartment Therapy. It's more interesting, too.

Apartment Therapy FTW. They feature design hacks, DIY, and budget-conscious styles pretty frequently. I like Houzz for looking at photos for ideas, but AT is far superior, at least in my opinion.

I don't think pulling off Houzz-type looks is necessarily expensive. The pictures on Houzz shows the concept of a design - layout, layers, elements, colors, textures, and etc. I saw a powder room I absolutely loved and the description indicated that everything was bought from Home Depot. The trick with using Houzz is not to go on there without a defined goal of what you are looking at. You'll go crazy looking at awesome houses that are simply out of reach. But if you think "I want a nicer kitchen with a big island", then go on there to take a look at what others have done that you like. Take note of how the design is pulled off. Maybe yours will be smaller, or with more affordable cabinets, but that's just the details.

Don't give up. Houzz is an awesome resource.

I was the first poster - I agree with this. I like Houzz a lot for ideas. You don't have to use the exact same products - just something similar in look. I want to remodel my master bath, but we have budgetary AND size constraints. Houzz can be searched with this in mind looking for placement ideas and different retailers.

I have also seen a lot of things on Houzz that I love but will never happen in our home, either due to size/layout factors, or budget, or both. Recently I started looking only with a more specific idea in mind--i.e. instead of looking to living room photos searching "built in bookshelf" and seeing what I liked.

I also second Apartment Therapy and Young House Love. YHL now has forums in which people have posted AMAZING remodels on a budget which have given me all sorts of ideas.
