your last power bill (july '13 heat wave) temp, size of house and age

Curious how efficient my house is. make sure you post caveat like no gas or electric water heater etc... gas bill

5800 sqrft inc basement
Built 2012
gas range all other appliances on electric (water heater)
temp set at 73 at night 75 during the day
gas bill $18
Power $320
Total energy cost $338

Cape cod built 1942
gas range/gas water heater (i think)
temp set around 78 all the time, plus an upstairs window unit set at 75
gas bill - $20
electric bill - $88
total cost - $108.

Colonial built 1978
Everything is electric, no gas in house.
I have a programmable thermostat that I set for 78 from 5 am- 5 pm, 73 from 5 pm- 5 am on weekdays, 73 all day on the weekends if we are home.
I will caveat with the fact that we were out of town for 8 days in July and turned the whole AC system off.

this is almost exactly ours, except we are in a 2200 sf colonial built in the late 60s

TH, built 1979, 2100 sq ft, insulation upgraded 2010.
Programmable thermostat set at 76 in morning/evening when we are home, 80 when we are not.
No gas.
average $80/month in summer. Can get up to $120 in the dead of winter.

We have a programmable set to 72-74 when we are away, and 68 all night. (we are on the third floor and hate to sleep hot, and I bolded b/c I see most ppl are well above that)

Our bill for July was $177.

That's pretty good , do you have the base level builder grade non argon?

How old and what kind of Windows?

2200 square feet, built 1930, but with storm windows. Gas oven, gas water, thermostat set to 77 when we are in, 85 when we were out
electric bill was $237. Seems high.
