I've had mine for years and chopped all kinds of tough ingredients, but today I tried to chop dates for homemade larabars. Alas, the dates won and now I need a new appliance. If you love yours, and didn't spend an arm and two legs (under $300), please recommend.thanks!
I have a full-size Cusinart that I LOVE and would replace in a heartbeat, but I also have a Cusinart immersion blender that has a small food processor adapter. It's about 3 cups, so smaller than a standard food processor, but it works great! I have been reaching for this to make baby food rather than my old machine because it is so much easier to clean. If you are on a budget and are okay with something small, you might want to look into this.
Pp, what's a full size? 14 cups? More / less?

I think's actually 7 cups - it's an old school one like this (which is only $99!!!):

I have the Kitchen Aid that has the small bowl that fits in the larger bowl. It has several blades for slicing too. I love the thing. I also have the Cuisinart Immersion blender with the food processer attachment. I had to get a second immersion blender because the first one didn't last, but it wasn't that expensive so I sucked it up. My Kitchen Aid was rated the best by Cooks Illustrated a few years back.

PP here. Here is the food processor I have

I used the immersion blender attachment for baby food also! For small jobs it really is good.
I agree with recommendation of KitchenAid. |
Love our KitchenAid with the small bowl too (probably 6 years old). Holds up well. Have a Betty Crocker immersion blender that is probably 20 years old.
