Hotel in Dubrovnik?

Hi,
I'm planning to visit Dubrovnik in about 10 days and have not booked a hotel. Any suggestions? Has anyone used airbnb in Dubrovnik? Some of the apartments look okay online but I'm a bit leery. Thanks for any advice - and tips about what to do/see in Dubrovnik (I heard you can kayak around the old city, which sounds great). |

| We rented an apartment, but I don't think it was through airbnb (we went in 2006). It was very nice, I would do it again. |

Lucky you. Dubrovnik is one of the nicest cities I've ever seen. I would recommend staying in Vila Dubrovnik which is built into a cliff above the sea or Hotel Stari Grad, which is nicely located but not too expensive. You should also know that most of the hotels, even with a 3 star range are always clean and maintained well. Staying in private accomodation is also recommended and less expensive. There are many tourist board offices where you can make a decision if you end up not liking what you book online. Overall, you will enjoy it very much regardless where you stay. GOOD LUCK! |
