I will be attending an open house soon. Who has a child there? Do you love it, do you hate it? Love to hear pros and cons...thanks |
There are tons of posts in the archives about Aidan--you will find that it provokes very strong views, both for and against. |
I have two children at Aidan--older is in 2nd year of Primary, younger is in the Toddler program. We love it, as do my kids. As you will see from the earlier posts, opinions will vary, but trust your instincts and how you feel about the school when you see it. In my experience the children who are there really love it and their teachers, and the learning foundation that the kids are provided and the enthusiasm for learning that is established are both amazing. Children work at their own pace and according to their own interests and get individual attention, and they learn to work with other kids as well. It is a happy place, and both my kids are truly excited to go to school every morning. |
Our daughter started at Aidan this year (Primary level). She LOVES it, and we love it too. Very happy there and know that it is a great fit for us.
However, as with any school but perhaps more so with this one (because it is a more "strict" Montessori model), the concept of fit is key. Our daughter really chose the school for herself more than we chose it for her. She responded very well to the Montessori environment and teaching approach that constituted the playdate/interview portion of the application process. It was clear to us just from that experience that it would be the best school for her if she were accepted. Other children do not respond as well to the environment and approach and their reactions are important information as well. |
OP here: Is it hard to get in Aiden? If we get in, we'd enter the 3-year old class..

Aidan. And yes, it is quite competitive. Please do try the archives. |
Yes, it is competitive (rather than first come, first serve) and there are many applicants for each spot. |
