In-home daycare in Arlington

Anonymous
I will be a first time mom in Dec 2013 and am exploring affordable daycare options, including working part-time, a nanny-share, and in-home daycare. This question specifically pertains to in-home daycare in Arlington Co:
- What can I expect to pay for full-time (40-45 hours per week) daycare?
- Do in-home care providers tend to be more flexible about considering taking an infant for part-time care? It seems that this is rarely an option in daycare centers.
- Does anyone have a specific recommendation of of an in-home care provider in north or south Arlington that they have a good experience with?
Thank you for your help!

-I've seen Arlington in-homes in the $200-300/week range
-They tend to be, especially if they have multiple openings, but your chances are better if you find another family that has complimentary needs to yours - you need Tuesday & Thursday, they need MWF - and you approach the provider as a package deal.
-I think it might be hard to find a family provider who knows what their openings will be in spring next year (assuming you'll take a few months of maternity leave?), so I know it's nerve racking but just continue to read up on the licensing requirements and make sure you like them, maybe look for that complimentary family - which will be hard to find, and wait it out.

We paid $1,300 a month for our in-home provider in North Arlington. I've noticed that in-home providers often don't take the youngest babies, or just one or two, because they are so labor intensive. Our provider was not interested in babies under the age of one.
