tallulah is nice too as is Willow. I like all the suggestions I've heard so far too. I always like Cafe Asia and I've heard good things about Me Jana (Lebanese). Also Mihns is good for Vietnamese.

I know you said Arlington but Georgetown is just over the bridge and my favorite bday or anniversary place is Filomena's

I don't even normally eat creamy sauces but the lobster cardinale is to die for

Carlyle's is always happening! Nice wine list and I love their Salmon salad!

Here's a second vote for Liberty Tavern in Clarendon. We ate there this weekend and loved, loved, loved it. The food was great (and not super pricey), the service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Our group all thought it was one of the better meals we've had lately.

My votes would be Jaleo in Crystal City, either Willow or Rio Grande in Ballston or Me Jana in Courthouse.

another vote for Melting pot. It is an activity as well as a meal-something so different than you find anywhere else. Fun to do and it's good

You've never been? It's fondue. You start with cheese and they give you the fruits and breads to dip in. Then you go to the main course (you choose the stock) and you can choose which meats or seafood you want. You cook it yourself in the pot at the table. Then the dessert course is chocolate with fruits to dip in it.

It's a bit pricey but I love the place. If you've never been you should def go. I've even taken my daughter when she was around 12 months with no problems.

I suggested Melting Pot. (Happy to see that others like this too!) Each person gets there own color of forks so that when your food is all cooking in the same pot you know which one is yours - The cheese comes with squares of bread and some apples I think maybe veg too I forget. Salad you get a choice-I like the Calfornia salad-rasberry dressing-blue cheese or gorgonzola, etc. Then you choose a cooking style(to cook the main meal with)-don't get the one that is oil-not recommended. There is one that has oranges in it that I like-they make it all in front of you then each person gets a dish of raw meat and fish and veg on the side (they will keep filling the veg up for you for free) each item has a differnent cooking time-a few minutes-I like to keep it in there a little longer-I get nervous that it will be raw!
dessert you get chocolate/white or dark and then you can get things mixed in-cookies, rasp liqueur, etc and it comes with marshmellows, bananas, etc pricey but worth it-so different
