Lemom Road ES - after school care program besides SACC ?

Anonymous
Anybody know Lemom Road ES's after school care program?
I am in the waiting list of SACC, don't think we'll make it this semester.

What is the other option?

I know Haycock had Takwondo.

what about Lemon Road?

The school admin will know which companies pick up there. I know there's a karate studio nearby.

We are not zoned for Lemon Road ES. Unfortunately, calling the school in my case was unhelpful. They were reluctant to provide names of companies that provide after school care. I called two different times and got the same reaction. The neighborhood listserve has been helpful. My next step is to contact the school PTA.

If you don't have a kid attending Lemon Road, why are you looking for after school options there?

Enshin Karate picks up at the school

That's ridiculous they wouldn't give you names. They know all of them easily. Each "bus" typically has a sign or something where the kids meet under for role call. It's not like they are endorsing a company or something.

I had a similar experience when I called Lemon Toad yesterday to ask for alternative after care programs.

OP - what list serv are you on that is so helpful? I need suggestions for programs, too.

Not zoned means they are most likely in the AAP program. I don't think any school admin gives out that information as we at a problem getting the same info out of a school near by. There may be some sort of rule where county can't recommend private-that is my suspicion. I know Enshin karate is near by Lemon road. It is in back of Whole Foods on Rt 7. I believe they pick up at the school.

How is saying what bus comes to pick up students at the school recommending them? You just say "Enshin Karate" comes to pick up some students, however we know nothing about that program. You'd have to check with them directly.

The only other alternative besides word of mouth is sitting outside and watching the mini buses come and pick up the kids. Since anyone can see that from the street, I don't get why the school can't admit which mini buses come.
