Robert Goddard French Immersion Middle School rated #1 in MD?

Am I reading this ranking correctly on Schooldigger?

(Don't have a child there -- was looking up possible middle schools)

Yes, although the ranking for the elementary grades seem to have fallen this year. Historically their scores seem to improve as the grade levels progress. Probably because they can maintain small class sizes and the kids are in school together from K-8.

They also appear to counsel out kids who aren't cutting it in French at a certain point -- by 4th grade I think. Do they take in new kids after that?

Interesting. How can you tell that they counsel kids out and is that even allowed in a public school? Is there a large drop in numbers at that point? My understanding is that to get in past kindergarten you have to demonstrate a certain level of fluency. So maybe you could get in, but you would already need to speak french at that level which I would imagine would cut down dramatically the number of eligible kids.

Anecodatal. I have friends whose kids went there. When the kids started struggling with French reading, spelling and writing... or struggling in math, they were encouraged to go to an English only school on the grounds that bilingual education would be too hard for them, basically. They weren't told to but it was suggested to them that their kids would do better in a different type of school.
