I've toured them all, and as a Liberal Democrat, if I had the choice of any school in the city, it would still be NCS. Why didn't it make the Obama's short list? |
you are not doing your homework. Read about The Lab school's philosophy and see if its similar to NCS. |

I am guessing, but the NCS/Beauvoir campus is not as easy to block off as the schools apparently under consideration. Also, the girls would probably be harder to guard against long distance threats when walking on Cathedral grounds to the sports center at set times each week and to lunch daily. Agree that NCS/Beauvoir are a fantastic school combination, though. |
Two schools instead of one seem like too much bother for all that security. |
But at Sidwell I think they would also be on different campuses. |
Maybe Beauvoir's public image is an issue, given the alleged pedophile and double homicide. |
I am a Beauvoir/NCS parent who is a fan of both schools, but if I was taking my children through a major transition I would want to find a school as much as possible like their old one. So I think that explains it. |
If I lived outside the area and heard that Obama was sending his kids to "National Cathedral School", I would think it was highly religious and would think its very strange and maybe not even appropriate for our national leader's family, who isn't even Catholic. Sidwell is Quaker, much less strictly religious sounding. Not that I really care where he sends his kids, but you never know what kind of pressure to placate the nation he is under when doing even little things like picking a school for his kids. |
Beauvoir and the National Cathedral School are Episcopal. Not Catholic. |
Personally I believe that Michelle Obama will do what is best for her children, not what is best for the administration's image. |
