I'm eager to hear answers as well. I love hot & sour soup, especially when recovering from a cold. The heat clears my nose and soothes my throat.

I like the hot and sour soup at the Vietnamese place in the development at the downtown Silver Spring fountain (the place upstairs next to the Thai restaurant). I get it with fish (you can choose your "meat"). Not sure this is the same flavor as the Chinese restaurant hot and sour soup, but I love it when I'm feeling under the weather (and when I am feeling fine as well).

Completely different flavor. I love Pho, especially when it's rainy and I'm depressed.

It's Wheaton, not Silver Spring, but Paul Kee's on Georgia Ave is one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in the area.
