Grass is not always greener on the other side!

I left a higher pay job was expecting grass is greener on the other side. Now kind of regret it. Go ahead and share your experience

I'm about to take a huge paycut to go from Biglaw to Fed and I couldn't be happier to get out! I'm positively glowing more and more as I get closer to my last day!

Specifics, please? Why exactly is it not greener? Did you make some assumptions or have certain expectations that didn't hold true?

I am about six months into a new job. Same salary as before, but longer commute and worse benefits (so kind of like a paycut) but I am much happier - work is more interesting, I have a great relationship with my boss (old one was a bitch) etc. glad I made the change.

Or some times it is. I left a shit job at $100K for a new better more challenging more interesting job at $180K. It was a no brainier.
