Redwood in Bethesda -

if you've been there, what did you get that you liked? Thanks.

Have been there several times. It is quite nice, nothing special in terms of food, it is good but not outstanding, but nice atmosphere, prices can be reasonable, overall a nice experience but don't go expecting to be bowled over by the food.

I was underwhelmed by the food but the atmosphere is nice.

My last experience there was just awful. The food took forever to come, came out cold when it did finally arrive, no compensation and barely an apology offered. This was a family lunch on a Saturday (6 guests for a special occasion, including elderly grandparents) in May.

A few years ago, I had one nice brunch there and one nice dinner, but I see no reason to ever go back again. Lots of other places from which to choose. One strike and you're out!

agree -- food is underwhelming, service haphazard, and interior forgettable -- though they chose interesting design materials

it's bethesda at its worst -- an open-air mall

they just lost their new chef of 4 months - lot of turnover here

I really wanted to like redwood because I like the atmosphere but the meal was awful and totally overpriced to boot. There were four of us at my table and none of us enjoyed our meal there.

Overpriced place, but we still like it...

Nice location, and I like their hamburgers. Also some good deals over happy hour.

Better food at Persimmon (although the setting isn't as good) and Food Wine & Co (although it can be loud).

Tuna tartare is better at Raku.

I go there for the drinks and that is about it. Although I did like the brussel sprouts.

I'm just waiting for their lease to end and have that restaurant be divided into smaller restaurants.

I can't remember what my husband and I got, but I do remember the portions are HUGE... so splitting is a good option. The food is ok, nothing special.
