| Thinking about doing their halves program (family of three) to make my life easier. Thoughts on their food from those of you who have used them? |
| We use the half programs for busy weeks. I read reviews on here and a lot of people looked down on it as not very good or worth it, but it works for us. FWIW I'm a TERRIBLE cook and when left to my own devices things are grim. So the weeks when we've done this have been a nice change of pace. |
| I think the food's pretty good. My sister assembles it for me, so I can't speak to that, but it's easy to make and there are relatively healthy options. She goes to the Alexandria location, FWIW. |
| Just learn to cook a few simple dishes yourself. |
I've done it a few times and it was fine. Definitely convenient. But the food options weren't all that great and the ingredients didn't seem high-quality. So it was fine for a few convenient meals, but I wouldn't go sign up for it again on my own. Maybe split it with a friend if she pressured me into it again.

Fuck off. |
I should add that I do love to cook from scratch a lot so a lot of the prepackaged junk turned me off. |
| We did it when the kids were really young (twin infants/toddlers.) Most of the food was pretty good. It was fun and easy to assemble - but after several months we got tired of it. There are coupons floating around and think it is worth trying out. |
| Thanks everyone! |
| Healthy Bites is great option too, though a different model from let's dish. I received a week of meals from friends as a gift and loved it! |
| I like it. I don't pay the extra for the halves program. We do the split, where I just split the full portions into two while I assemble in the store and then if I haven't coordinated to share with a friend (which is the best choice so I get more variety) I just end up with two of each... |
Their food looks awesome. But for a family of three it looks very expensive since each meal is only for one person
|
| We have a Dinner Done near us, which I have used from time to time. I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients and the taste. I've used it for making a dinner party sized meal, where I made the sides and bought the main course from them. Worked out great and guests loved it. |
So unbecoming of the Food forum
