Pumping at DC Superior Court

Anonymous
I am an attorney and have a trial coming up at DC Superior Court. It should only last one or two days. I need to pump 2 or 3 times a day. Has any one had this situation before? How and when did you bring it up and how was it handled? Did you feel that the Judge was annoyed (or was any one else annoyed?)? The judge will probably already be annoyed because this case should really settle, but won't (in my opinion, not because of my client) and I've never been in front of this judge before, so I don't have a good relationship established, like I do in other courts (although I've never been in this situation in another court, either, I can just imagine asking some other judges that I know).

A lactation room is available for nursing mothers at the courthouse.

I'm not a lawyer, but I will bet my paycheck that you will not be the first person to need to pump. I wouldn't worry at all about annoying anyone. It's just what you have to do.

I'm not a judge or an attorney, but I was a juror on a case where someone had to pump and the judge recessed when necessary with no problem whatsoever.
