I want a new house, DH wants a new car, but neither of us can bring ourselves to do anything ... We did pay off the credit cards, but that was not much. Ideas?

Troll.

As if someone who just received $2m would really turn to DCUM looking for ways to grow it.

You never can tell what is true and what is not on DCUM.

If it happened to you, do you think you would run tell all your friends? Relatives?

OP, sounds like you'll need four or five car washes to launder all that cheddar.

Next, you send it to me

No seriously, the first rule is to let the money SIT THERE for a year. This is to let it sink in psychologically, and to prevent you from doing anything rash. You can consult with a financial adviser too during this time. Then once you are sure about how to want to break it down, go ahead.

Screw that...I only need $10k. Please reply!

OP, have you posted about this before? It was an inheritance, right?

You just paid off the credit card expense? With 2M in the bank?? Why did you even have a balance on your credit card?

Ah this would make sense. I thought OP was saying they'd been saving all along and just hit 2M. So little information in that first post that it is impossible to respond. I don't even really know what OP is asking.
