What to do with unwanted jewelry?

Anonymous
I have a lot of jewelry I have collected over the years and much of it I do not wear. I am wondering what I can do with it. It is not fine jewelry, but nice (things I've picked up at art shows, through travels, etc.). It is too much trouble to try to sell on ebay. Is there anywhere I can donate this stuff? Goodwill? Any other suggestions?

Not sure of the condition or the jewel type, but you might have some surprising luck at a pawn shop - gold, silver, platinum, real gem stones

I'll take it!!!

I'm serious, but I guess I'll make a suggestion. What about the organization that gets women new wardrobes to get back to work...for homeless women, I think?

OP here: Dress for Success says they do not take jewelry. I don't know if that's the organziation you were thinking of.

As far as the type, it is mostly silver.

I guess another option is to freecycle it. Or I could save the trouble and give it to the PP, do you seriously want it?

Ebay or Craigslist.

I'd take it, or some of it, seriously, and give it a good home. I love to wear informal jewelry, but I'm lousy at picking it out. I dither and second-guess even over a $20 pair of earrings, and have often said that I just need someone to dump a bunch of stuff on me to get me over that decision-making hump.

What about one of those clothing closets that provide low income women with clothing for job interviews? A quick web search came up with this:
