Leaving your dog at a kennel can be stressful for your pet and your pet won't get the personal attention I can give in my home while you are on vacation. I am home all day long with NO distractions or children to care for, so you won't need to worry while away because your dog will get my full attention along with 2 walks per day, a daily dog park visit, frequent bio-breaks, plenty of yard playtime, and lots of hugs & kisses. My goal is to help alleviate some of the stress your dog has from missing you. Dogs have feelings and I know how to be attentive to their needs and moods. It comes from lots of experience with pets and from my love for animals.
Boarding fee ranges from $20 to $40, depending on the size of the dog |
Per day?
Do you have insurance? Are you trained? Do you have other pets? Where are you located? |
Why would the size of the dog affect the price? Strange.
|
Not op but this is not at all strange in the dog boarding world. A larger dog takes up more space, has more hair, bigger poops, more wear and tear... Is this really hard to understand? |
Yeah, it is. That's just stupid. |
Are you bonded and insured? My husband is a dog walker, and we do boarding at our home...but we charge the same price for all dogs.
You're asking for trouble if you're not bonded and insured. If you're not, PSI can help. It costs about $1,000/year. |
PP here (the one who boards dogs) The size / price difference would be understandable if the dogs were being boarded in kennel, where there are large kennels for big dogs that take up way more room than small kennels for small dogs. However, if the dogs are being boarded in a home situation, I don't understand the reasoning for charging different price. You're really going to charge a doberman more than a frenchie because he's taking up more room on your couch? |
Larger dogs also eat more food. We've always paid more to board our 90-lb. dog than our 55 lb. dog. |
You're providing the food so who cares how much it eats |
Yeah, I don't get the sized-based pricing.
My large dog actually requires less work than my mother's small dog. Why? Because mine doesn't need as many bathroom breaks and doesn't have as many issues. |

PP here and I've never brought my dogs' food to the kennel. |
We always bring food when we board our dog. It's not a kennel, maybe that's why.
|
We also are required to bring our dog's food when they're boarded. OMG - they would be puking and shitting for days if their diet changed. We do cageless boarding, and it's structured for size and temperment. |
