Question re: MCPS school registration: moving from one part of county to other

| Can someone explain this procedure for me? If we currently live in MoCo, have registered our child to attend our local school in September, but decide to move to a different part of MoCo in August, how do we get our child into their new home-school for the beginning of the school year? Do we need to request a transfer from the school we registered at but no longer live near, or do we just withdraw our registration and register anew in the new home-school? |

| You will withdraw and register at the new school. |

| Call the secretary at the new school and tell them that you have moved into the area but that you registered at a different school. They will need proof of your new residence but all the other paperwork will be transferred over to the new school from the school you already registered at (they will call to request it). |
