| Off and on, been feeling a little sick after eating some foods from the freezer. Like a slight tinge of food poisoning but nothing major. Kept chalking it up to the food disagreeing or maybe the stomach bug that is going around. But the other day, noticed a bag of frozen grapes looked like it had been frozen, thawed and refrozen. Never noticed anything wrong with it but now am wondering if there might be something wrong with the freezer. Is there a way to tell if the freezer is broken, not completely broken but maybe it works sometimes and other times the food is defrosting? |
| Can you pick up a freezer thermometer to check the temp? |
| Will the thermometer be able to indicate what the temperature is throughout the day--is it digital and can store several temperatures? Where can I get one? |
|
You can get something that will tell you like this:

| Meant to ask if your fridge is still under warranty? If the temp is fluctuating then you probably have repairs covered. |
| put an ice cube on a plate/bowl in freezer. If there is a frozen puddle around the cube then your freezer is not consistently holding temp. |
You are officially the smartest person I know (anonymously online). Simple, yet brilliant. |
| Thanks for the great suggestions! I'll hold off on getting a thermometer for now and see how the ice cube thing goes. |
this is Trump’s fault |
| Check the seal |

Mine does this a lot and I’ve had the repairmen put more times than I can count. It will freeze them randomly go up to 12-13 degrees then refreeze. There is a short in some wire. I thought put we had fixed it for good but it’s started again. I can tell it happens because the ice cream has ice crystals (it also has a temp monitor) but the ice cream always gives it away.
Subzero sucks. We’ve been dealing with this on and off for 3+ years. Luckily we don’t freeze much to begin with. |
