Private & Independent Schools
|
I'm considering a small private christian school for elementary education for my dc. The worry I have is that they teach the abeka curriculum. I have heard mixed reviews about this. The school is fairly new. I googled and found that its filosophy is the chrisian dominionism. I am not too sure about this. I would prefer a christian school that is associated with some denomination as to nondenominational.
I don't know what to do. I like everything else about this school, but the philosophy makes me a bit wary. I sometimes think it will not be such a big thing for K to 5. Any ideas Thanks |

I have heard mostly positive from the home schoolers. That said, that curriculum dominates the industry.
I can not answer any questions about the philosophy. There are points where the math jumps around and there is not much explanation to help the kids think math. The phonics reading is good. |
