Any particular area/location?

OP - would prefer NW DC. We are in Logan Circle.

I bet cakelove or sticky fingers would do that for you.

PP from above.

We've done special occasion cakes from sticky fingers before--they're fabulous. (They're vegan, and they can do gluten-free. For just regular cake, try cakelove, which is closer to you.)

If you don't want to spend a lot you can get a princess cake at Giant. You can order online but I strongly suggest you go in person and pick one from the in-store catalogue and then they can tell you right there if they have the plastic pieces to go on top or if you need to pick another one (ie, not all stores have everything that is shown online). I think the closest giant to Logan is the one right at the Van Ness metro but not sure maybe there is a closer one downtown? (is there a new grocery store at NY ave now?)

Could you bring the doll to the bakery and have them decorate around it? (They don't bake the doll in the cake. It would melt. So undecorated cake + doll + icing might work for you.)

We got a birthdya cake from sweetmooncakes.com. Take a look at the portfolio to see if there's something you like. The cake was very good.

Bumping this thread - anyone have any suggestions for getting a barbie/princess cake in NW DC at a reasonable price? I'd also be able to drive to silver spring or bethesda.

I got a cake with a tiara and wand on it from giant. It was adorable.

I've seen it at grocery stores (Giant, Safeway, Shoppers) where Barbie's dress was part of the cake and the bust/head was the cake topper.

PP here, that's exactly what I am looking for - will do some asking around this week. But open to any additional suggestions or places people know definitely can do this! I find the grocery stores can be hit or miss when it comes to specific requests.

I know Safeway does these.

I went to two Safeways in DC and they both said the barbie cake had been discontinued, but Safeway on Bradley Blvd in Bethesda will do it.
