If I stop taking the pill, will the melasma go away?

| I have noticed some melasma in my face which the dermatologist told me is from the BCP. I look awful and other people have started asking me about the brown patches on my face. Has anyone stopped the pill and had them clear up at all? |

| I got melasma when I was pregnant. I used a fading cream that I bought on Amazon and it cleared right up, but you need to stop the bc if you don't want it to come back. |

| Mine stopped when I stopped BCP - it was almost completely gone when I got pregnant, then it returned with a vengeance. |

| Mine took about 15 years to go away, still some patches of it. Pregnancy was worse than BCPs. |
