I have no idea what the poster was trying to say, but I find it really offensive. |
Here it is : The one appointment that has been made - Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel - is an orthodox Jew! Good grief.
Not to mention the throwing around of other remarks that are racist. |
The poster was responding to the following comment:
Where are the blacks and the women and Jews in the cabinet? Looks like "God" decided to bring the Clinton crew back into power. Yuk. It seems pretty clear to me that the "good grief" indicated disbelief that the person who posted it did not know that RE is Jewish. |
I believe you misunderstood the remark. An earlier poster said that Obama is not appointing any blacks, Jews, or women to his cabinet. The person whom you quoted was simply pointing out that Obama's first appointment is a Jew. I really don't see that as being anti-Semitic and I wouldn't be surprised if the poster was Jewish his/her self.
Edit: Okay, someone beat me to the explanation. Thanks! |
I guess I read it differently. |
Sorry about that. |
Better be careful or you may receive a dead fish. |
Not that this thread needs continuing, with the misunderstanding clarified and all, but what's this about a dead fish? My curiosity's been piqued. |
Rahm Emanuel allegedly sent a dead fish to a pollster who had displeased him. |
It is true. He has admitted it. Apparently, neither he nor the fish recipient like to talk about it.
His brother was the inspiration for Ari Gold on Entourage! Intriguing family. |
Elisabeth Bumiller wrote an interesting story about the family back in 1997:

I am the person who posted re: dead fish. I wanted to provide some perspective on "civility" -- a topic everyone seems so crazy about. Now, I have used the "c" word and every other word in the book, but I've yet to send anyone a dead animal. Why? Because I am not as ballsy as Rahm Emanuel. But he's one of my role models.
