Okay, I couldn't contain this any longer.
The only one, in my opinion, who is making a huge big deal about "Republicans' LOSING" is this board. I am a republican but I voted for Obama. You can't bunch all Republicans into this huge mass pool of losers. (tempting, i know) And furthermore, Even in the media and everything I hear on the radio, Ive not heard ONE single sore loser. Ive heard nothing but postive things about Obama being elected. The only people who seem to be making in an issue is this board. Also, is this really a time for something like that? cant we just feel united and ready to move on, especially from the last 8 years, you'd think there wouldnt be any 'in your face' talk. Just my opinion. |
Thanks for voting for Obama. I, for one, appreciate it! |
I agree OP about most Republicans in the media being gracious. However, there are definitely some exceptions (for example Ambassador Bolton who appeared on BBC World News and was rude and obnoxious to the point that the anchor had to tell him to be quiet).
|
And maybe it's time for a Dem like me to note that the President has been gracious and , dare I say, Presidential.
It's honeymoon time, guys! |
"(for example Ambassador Bolton who appeared on BBC World News and was rude and obnoxious to the point that the anchor had to tell him to be quiet). "
Well I seem to remember that everyone was shocked when Bush picked Bolton because this guy has an incredibly consistent record for being one of the rudest dolts on the planet. It was a move to tick it to the foreign community. I don't think his obnoxiousness stemmed from being a Republican. I know lots of republicans and I'm not seeing the backlash against Obama either. Republicans are more struggling to get a grip on what direction to go in the future. If anything they are less focused on Obama and more on the upcoming battle between continuing to deine themselves with social, religious conservatism or get back to core principals of smaller government and fiscal constraint. |
ever looked at Fox News?
I see a lot of anger there... |
I was watching Fox News when Obama gave his speech. Afterwards, Shepard Smith said "This is history, If you're a conservative and upset, Get over it. Get over yourself. There's work to be done in our country and it starts now"
|
Actually, I think that is Bolton's general persona. He's typically rude and grumpy. Not sure he could've cracked a smile even if McCain had won. |
I agree with Shep, and I watch Fox consistently. I am proud to live in a country where a Barack Obama can win the presidency, whether I voted for him or McCain doesn't matter. |
