We live right near the school. Our kids go to an immersion program elsewhere in the county, but we actually moved to the area with the intention of going to Sligo Creek's academy program. All of our neighbors that I know on our street and around our street have kids at the school. Most have positive views on the school and intend to keep their children their and then go on to Silver Spring International for middle school. We've recently had a big influx of educated, fairly well-off families in our neighborhood (but not well-off enough for private) and prices are rising, so I think the school will probably only get better. The one thing I've heard contention about is the existence of the French program. I don't entirely understand the issues, but I've heard some moms rail against having the program there even though they like the school overall. I know three lovely kids from our street who will be in second grade this fall and who will be happy to meet your kid
