Feel like losers since we don't have 4th July plans

I love a quiet day - kids are going to play outside, we're grilling and will light sparklers later. How often is everyone home together on a Thursday? Enjoy it instead of being sad, OP!

You are a loser if you let not having any family (are you not married or with kids?) around stop you from enjoying a national holiday. Why can't you just relish having a day off? Invite over a couple of neighbors for a small BBQ?

Look at it like you have a day where you only have to please yourselves and be on your own schedule. Grill at home, go walk in the woods, get ice cream cones someplace, and just enjoy a relaxing day.

Right ... or just enjoy the day doing whatever you want. Don't let others call your tune.

No plans here either op. It feels good just to not be at work. Im running a load of laundry, packing for our trip down south for a family reunion tomorrow, trying to figure out how to get rid of these ants in my bedroom, laying down intermittently when i become ovverun with exhaustion or morning sickness from this pregnancy thats kicking my add, and listening to my toddler run around and play downstairs with his dad. Just planning to take today an hour at a time. Lucky to be alive and healthy...not always happy and or physically comfortable but I have much to be thankful for on this wonderful 4th of july.

there are SO many things to do as a family. Pick one and go if being at home is boring to you.

Be grateful you are able to be together as a family. My husband works pretty much every major holiday, with the exception of Christmas. Today he took the day off to play golf.

We are having stress-free day at home (Kids ages 5, 3, and 3; DH is working today). Slept until 7:30, had leisurely-paced breakfast. Now we are making homemade blueberry muffins with blueberries we picked last weekend. After we eat them, we are going to pull weeds in our garden and then have waterplay on our back deck. I never have this kind of time as weekends are full of social engagements and errands and 6 loads of laundry. Enjoy a Thursday off!

Ahhh, just enjoy it! Lounge around, BBQ, have a beer or two, take a nap. So many things to enjoy when you don't have to run around and be somewhere.

Local parade in the morning, family time at home by the pool in the afternoon, and fireworks in the evening. We are alone too, but that seems like a reasonable way to spend the day.

Way to make OP feel like a loser
