Picnic Tomorrow

Anonymous
Looking for ideas on what to pack in our picnic basket tomorrow. Our group will be all adults and teens who are adventurous eaters. Our DD and her pals made a blueberry pie and strawberry tarlets, so we're covered for dessert, but running out of time and ideas for the rest of the menu. All quick, easy, portable and delish suggestions are welcome; we're happy to cook or buy items in NW DC/CC MD/close-in Bethesda.

Different kinds of hummus, cheeses, different salamis, cooked sausages and cold cuts, bread and more bread.

Baguettes with an assortment of cheeses. I would pick up some pasta salads from whole foods. Hummus and pita chips. Cut up watermelon.

Corkscrew. Red wine. Chilled white wine, kept chilled in a thermos cooler.

Oops, forgot -- yellow plastic solo cups.
Keep the red in the picnic basket or backpack, and the white in a thermos cooler. Pour it in cups and keep a low profile. No one will care.

OP here -- thanks, all, for your suggestions -- and we'll definitely keep a low profile. Happy 4th!
