Dealing with a coworker you can't stand

| I am working on a team with a coworker who drives me up the wall. It started from work-related issues, but has become a dislike of her personally. Seriously, at this point, just the sound of voice makes me crazy. There is nothing to be done to help the situation. I'm stuck working with her for the foreseeable future. So I need to know how I can let it go and stop letting her drive me insane. How do you find zen when you're working with someone you can't stand? |

| Every time she annoys you pretend you are looking for material for her comedy central roast. I have done this and I have actually found myself looking forward to what the asshole that I work for will say next. |

I blogged about it.
Also, I pretended I was in a reality show, and mentally wrote all the blog writeups of each "episode." It made me feel better, and made me more capable of being the bigger person. |

I usually go for a walk (fake work errand), then check my bank balance when I get back to my desk.
Don't give your power to the asshole coworker. |

| I decided that it was hurting me more than it was hurting her. Then one day, after getting up to workout, I surprised her with a cheerful hello. The look on her face was astonishment, and we got along better after that. It was great for me to let go of the bad feelings. |

Focus on why you're there: to work, not make friends. It's easier said than done I know.
I have one of these coworkers too and I really try not to let her get to me but she just casts this dark storm cloud over the entire office. Sigh. |
