Good OB

Can anyone recommend an OB they really loved. I am thinking about getting pregnant again and wasn't crazy about my OB.
Anywhere in NW DC or Bethesda area would be great. Thank you.

Drs Macri, Gaba, Bathgate at GW. Dr. Bathgate doesn't smile much, but I value her experience and knowledge.

Nancy Sanders on 19th Street. But beware, she doesn't participate with insurance.

Dr. Robert Footer on New Mexico Ave, NW is great!

i love dr. bridges at 24th and M NW. i saw dr bathgate at GW for a time and SHE herself was great but the nurses and support staff were beyond rude and dismissive. i left that practice at 14 weeks.

Another vote for Foxhall OB/gyn. My favorites are Dr. Engel, Dr. Sarafin and Dr. Pardoe (probably in that order, but I really like them all).

Mine is Dr. Bathgate, at GW. Seems like some of the nurses are there only for the paycheck, but Dr. B. is very professional and anwers my questions with precision. She is great.

Another vote for Dr. Bridges...he is great, his staff is competent, I left a practice I was unhappy with and find this one so much better

I'm in my 16th week now and have seen Nevin and Hill at Reiter, Hill, Johnson & Nevin. Both have been excellent. They have offices Chevy Chase as well as downtown.

Carolyn Gorman, M.D. or Yuri Prikoupenko, M.D. at Georgetown University Hospital. Both very caring, knowledgeable, skilled physicians.

I second the vote for Dr Hill at Reiter Hill, but be prepared to schedule appointments well in advance because he's always booked, and you will get stuck with the other sub-par docs there if you don't book at least 1 month out...crazy, but true.

what does it mean when you say a physician doesn't "participate" with insurance?
Does that mean I have to pay upfront, submit my own insurance paperwork and THEN the visit will be reimbursed to me directly or does it mean that NO part of the visit is covered?

Thanks for any help figuring this system out...we're leaving Kaiser this month so I've never had to worry about finding my own doctor!
