Rec-Pac Camp question-wdyt?

Anonymous
DD is registered for a camp next week that only has 30 dc signed up (it is one of the camps with odd 11-6 hours).
Do you think they will still keep them divided up in age groups and have the same number of counselors as the more popular camps? DD is a young 6 and i'd prefer her to be with just her age kids.

Rec Pac separates the kids according to age/grade. So, they will put the K-2nd together and the 3-4th together (or maybe 3-5th together). Also, just because there are only 30 kids signed up now does not mean that there won't be more. People can do walk up registration for Rec Pac -- and they do. There will probably be about 40-50 kids in the end.

Will they have the same number of counselors as bigger programs -- No. They will adjust the ratios to fit the number of kids at each one. So, if a site has 100 kids, they may have 8 counselors. If your site has 30 kids in the end (which I doubt will be the case), but if they do, that site will have 3 counselors (I'm just using these numbers as an example, I don't recall what the actual ratios are at Rec Pac).

The odd hour Rec Pacs are set up b/c they are offering summer school at those schools from 8-11 a.m., then kids whose parents work can still do summer school if they sign up for Rec Pac.
