| Any idea where I can buy bees wax for baking? I'm in MoCo but will travel if necessary... |
| What? Never heard of using beeswax for baking. |
| For seasoning pans for things like caneles. |

Your post got me curious. I was thinking you could try Farmers Markets or MOMs. I also came across this:
http://www.marylandlife.com/cuisine/agriculture/the-banner-bee-company/ Their website didn't mention specifically for baking, but I bet if you call them, they could let you know of a local source. |
| You might check Whole Foods or Moms. I know WF sells some raw honey that comes with a layer of propolis/wax. |
|
OP here -
What is Moms? |
| MOMs is my organic market. It's a local chain that competes with Whole Foods. Google will find the location nearest you - but it's largely in the burbs. |
| Thanks! |
| My impression is that Moms is sort of like what Whole Foods was 20-30 years ago-- lot of bulk stuff, some regular groceries but a lot of things you might not find in your regular grocery store too. |

I searched "food grade beeswax" on amazon, and they have some stuff.
I'd also try Yes, if there is one near you (Cleveland Park, Adams Morgan, Cap Hill). |

This is a friend's company and you can order online. Delicious honey as well.

| One recipe I read said to just scrape some beeswax off a beeswax candle. Sounds about right to me! |
