| Looking for whole live lobsters I can get for a fair price. Any recs? |
| The Fishery on Connecticut Avenue in CCDC. |
| Go out to Mont Co to one of the Asian grocery stores such as H Mart on GA Ave. They sometimes have lobster for as little as $7/lb. |
| THE BEST. Washington Harbor. A friend picked them up on her way up from Alexandria. Into the water. Sweet corn. Tomatos, mozarella and basil. Best meal in our house ever. |
|
OH, sorry, you said NWDC. Well, think of the Harbor if you are ever down at the tidal basin. GREAT live lobster.
|
| Thanks all! Can you give me that recipie with the corn, tomatoes, monzarella and basil? |
| Black Salt has a seafood market, but not sure if they have lobsters. |
| I know that the Giant right near Friendship Heights as well as the Super Fresh by spring valley have live lobsters. I've never bought one from either place - so I can't really speak to how good they are.... but they are alive. |
| Lobsters should be cheap. They're catching tons up in Maine, so don't get ripped off. In Maine, I've bought some for 3.99/lb for the softshells. |
Unfortunately that's because the softshells can't be easily shipped. The market is still pretty high for hard shelled lobsters as that is all that is available here. |
| Was just in Maine. Softshells mid-coast were $5.00/lb. |
I'm guessing OP doesn't have easy access to Maine if she is looking for lobsters in NW DC. |
