narcissism everyone listens. Vaknin says that Obama's language, posture
and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, nearest and dearest
suggest that the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have
narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves. Jim Jones,
the charismatic leader of People's Temple, the man who led over 900 of his
followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own
children was also a narcissist. Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko
Asahara, Joe Stalin, Saddam, Mao Zedong, Kim Jong IL , and Adolph Hitler
are a few examples of narcissists of our time. All these men had a
tremendous influence over their fanciers and followers. They created a
personality cult around themselves, and with their blazing speeches
elevated their admirer's souls, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and
instilled in their minds a new zest for life. Those men gave their
followers hope! They promised them the moon, but alas, they invariably
brought them to their doom. When you are a victim of a cult of
personality, you don't know it until it is too late.

Obama is not promising us the moon. He is finally a person who is brave enough to give us HOPE. If you are jaded, that's OK (after 8 years of Bush, it's not hard to imagine someone being jaded), but your posting is so unimaginative.

Doesn't a person have to be narcissistic to a degree to have the chutpah to run for President? Bill Clinton seems hugely egotistical. His sexual behavior was so self destructive, it seems to me that he is the one with a mental problem. Obama, not so much.

I agree with this poster.
Hopefully, the fact that Obama only got 52% of the popular vote to McCain's 47-48% will help to keep him humble! (although I seriously doubt it)

That is soooo rich coming from a Republican. W lost the popular vote in 2000 and won by less than Obama's margin in 2004 and that hardly made him humble. If there were any concessions made to this fact by his administration over the last 8 years, I never saw it.
