I scratched my eye

I scratched my eye last night and it still hurts and is really watery today. Do I need to see an eye doctor (concern about infection) or will it resolve on it's own? Thanks in advance!

How did you scratch it? Have you flushed it a couple of times to make sure there isn't something stuck?

I'd call your PCP or hit a walk in clinic (unless you already have an eye doctor) I scratched my eye last year when a tree branch snapped back and hit me in the eye. I flushed it a few times and figured it would be fine the next day. When it wasn't, I went to a walk in clinic and they gave me an ointment that immediately relieved the discomfort.

Get to an ophthalmologist.

I thought I had scratched my eye and it turned out to be corneal erosion. Don't mean to scare you, but it's something to take seriously.

Yes, see a dr. I did this, and it turned out I had a scratched cornea. A regular optometrist was able to prescribe the meds.
