Annoying moms

Did you know that not all nannies are negligent?
Did you know that working moms love their kids as much as SAHMs love theirs?

All this stereotyping and generalizing characteristics of SAHMs, nannies and WMs is what is ANNOYING! Maybe there is some truth in the instances you've witnessed, but what you witness is just a fraction of all the SAHMs, WMs and nannies in the world.

Oops. I meant Thank you to this!

This made me so sad - and I am so sorry for anyone who has lost their mother. I really began to appreciate my relationship with mine when I had my kids. Maybe we should stop this thread. I think enough has been said.

me too.... How about we PLEASE stop this thread!???

yea lol I am afraid it's too late for that, I think I was given that title already. and btw I was referring to the "bad nanny sighting" post, in which several seemingly working moms were bashing on SAHMs.

If people read my posts more carefully, they would know I am not generalizing and stereotyping EVERY working mom, nor do I think all SAHMs are good at what they are doing, nor do I think all nannies suck at their job. But the ones that I AM referring to are annoying to me.

I will admit that I should have chosen better phrasing, but I figured since everyone was firing away, I could do the same.

If this board did not allow anonymous posts, most people would probably never say what they really think. Also, sometimes people think it is the same person writing several different posts, although those are from different people.

just curious, if you want the thread to stop, why do you continue to read it? yes, that post is saddening, but also very enlightening to those who could benefit from sharing this woman's thoughts. It makes you stop and think, and perhaps learn from her. i have posted here about my own losses before, and in a way it felt good to express it here, to share my thoughts, even if they are sad.

Thank you for putting this in perspective. Everyone is getting out all of their venting but at the end of the day the relationships with the people you truly love is what matters. It's like all the stress of planning a wedding - I had to constantly remind myself that no one will really remember if I picked blue or green napkins. In the large scheme of life - that really wasn't important.

Yes! Bad enough these women don't care about the safety of other people on the road. But to endanger their own kids like that. Talk about being self-involved.

Generally, people driving SUVs surrive accidents. It's the people in the other non-SUV vehicles that get severely injured or die.

That's because the drivers of the SUV's can't see out the window and touch the peddles at the same time. They run over the people in the smaller cars, killing them.
They also have much larger blind spots, and little cars can easily hide in them, and then the SUV merges in on top of the person in the sedan.

Surely SUV drivers can't be worse than drivers of the massive minivans!

Anyone driving any vehicle while on the phone - with or without a headset. It is just too distracting and cell phone use in a moving vehicle needs to be banned (except in emergency situations). It is not that hard to make a call before or after your trip, or to pull over in a safe spot. I have used the headsets and have been in cars with people that use them and no matter what anyone says, youdo not have your full attention on the road.

OH YES THEY CAN!

Minivans normally sit just a little higher than a regular car, and are not much bigger than a station wagon.

Moms who have nothing else to talk about except their children.

I can't believe no one has posted this yet:
People who respond directly to the DCUM list serve -instead of sending their message to the separate email that is CLEARLY listed in the top of each compilation - so that the previous list embeds into the new one!!

I don't think the forum and listserv audiences overlap that much. Anyway, aren't you complaining about the failure to trim, not the fact that someone people respond to the whole list? Nothing wrong with the latter (when used appropriately), IMHO.

A station wagon my foot. You have obviously never seen a Nissan Quest. It looks like a submarine!
