delta variant. |
Yes - The delta variant is why I will be voting R for governor (rest of ticket will be D). We need to make sure there is someone in power that will order schools to return 5 days a week. SB 1303 is good but there is too much leeway for the governor to continue the state of emergency and thus allow waiver for in-person education. My crazy neighbor is already talking about how elementary should really be hybrid until all kids are vaccinated (because what more is just a few months to make sure it's REALLY safe?!). |
The delta variant can be controlled with the vaccine, once it's available to the younger ones. But no. Arlington anti-vaxxers are coming out in force here and in the FaceBook groups. Regardless, I hope that APE and SR leadership disappear next year. Their infighting brought the whole return to school discussion into the gutters. |
Wait. Aren’t we on summer break? |
YUP - rightfully so. |
Mark my words - the minute an elementary kid gets covid or the variant in the fall, we will all be back to hybrid. At minimum, elementary and middle will be wearing masks indoors for the unforeseen future. |
Yup. We are already creating contingency plans to rent something where we’d like to move. Not again. |
Republican leaders recklessly botched the entire response to the pandemic. The spread of the virus could have been mitigated and we could have prevented thousands and thousands of deaths. Why would you trust them? They don't care about education, science, health or safety. |
Really? Because you're that against unvaccinated kids wearing masks? |
I think the contingency plans are in case schools go hybrid or DL. If that happens, we'll rent or just outright sell and move out of Arlington. We're not doing another year of crappy distance learning with young elementary students. I'm fine with masks and prefer outdoor lunch. Not APE, but can't deal with online kindergarten and 2nd grade. |
Explain to me how kids in Texas and Florida are worse off because of republican governors? |
Okay vote republican and keep your kids as stupid as you are. |
Laws banning talking about race honestly, laws that allow discrimination against LGBTQI+ kids, ERCOT killing people (only applies to Texas, but still), fantastically shitty public schools |
