The question you should be asking is why doesn’t Roy Moore?

You only check in if you are guilty. And there is NO comparison here. Furthermore, you can't even prove it true. It's a smear-job exaggerated from 38(!) years ago because he's winning. My guess is the Rs are involved as well. They've gotten as sleazy as you liberals.

What motivated a woman who voted for Trump to come out at allege this? And her mother (presumably another Republican) to confirm it?

And why were there stories about Moore floating around if this didn't happen? That is how the Post reporter found out about it, because other people were talking about it.

So the GOP is now cleaved in two, trying to decide whether child sexual assault should get a pass. The party has become completely dysfunctional.

The party is now the party of "family value" in name only, not in actuality.

Just further confirmation that they've long ago lost their moral compass.

She says that when he asked her out, she asked her mother what she would say if she wanted to date a 34-year-old man. Gibson says her mother asked her who the man was, and when Gibson said “Roy Moore,” her mother said, “I’d say you were the luckiest girl in the world.”

I think this is being blown out of proportion. 50 years ago in the south women would get married at 16 17 18.

The age of consent is still 16 in Alabama. We are talking about a 14 year old.

The people who voted for him in the primaries will simply say this is a left wing conspiracy, blame the WaPo for digging up dirt, and go ahead and vote for Moore just to stick it to the liberals who they hate with all their being. They may or may not believe that Moore did these things, but they just won't care.

Shorter version: it’s Alabama.

This. A college coed recently committed suicide after a much old man raped her and no one believed her. It isn’t going to change one thing.

Borrowing a phrase - the only moral child molester is my party’s child molester.

I am amazed you are using this bullshit to defend that pedophile piece of shit. He is scum and so are you. GOP = defenders of pedophiles. Trash, trash, trash. You should be ashamed of yourself. Tell your 14 year old daughter it’s ok for her to get assaulted by a 32 year old prosecutor.

Here is PaleoConPrep espousing the death penalty for all pedophiles. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/543290.page

So PaleoCon, and other Right wingers, do you now support the death penalty for Roy Moore? Or are you going to change your stance to accommodate him?

This took place in 1979 and a 32 year old man took off his clothes in front of a 14 year old girl and had her put her hand on his erection. I'm sorry, but that was NOT okay even in the south in 1979.

Are you drunk or daft? Weinstein? Spacey? Hoffman?

Exactly - which makes it easy for someone who doesn’t want him elected to make accusations at this time.
Color me very skeptical.

So you'll give a pedophile the benefit of the doubt? No wonder they feel like they'll "get away with it." YOU allow it.

And, you will condemn before you have any proof? Two words... Tawana Brawley

How predictable. How long before you slut-shame the 14 year old?

I'm inclined to believe the charge, but proof is needed too.

If true, there were probably more, who will gather courage to speak up -- as they did with Weinstein, Spacey, etc.

Other than onterviews with the victims and others who corroburate their stories from decades earlier, what do you propose?

More women with similar or worse stories coming forward as a result of this article, with as careful reporting and investigation as is found in this article

That's ridiculous--there's already quotes from 3 women, their friends and some of their mothers. This is a very carefully reported article. For you to imply that their stories mean nothing because 20 women haven't come forward is the height of stupidity. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if more women come forward with similar stories.

It is indeed a very carefully sourced article - the kind that will inspire other women with long-ago experiences with Moore to come forward feeling they will be treated with dignity and fairness. Some of them might even have better stories than the ones already told - more detail, more corroboration, maybe even an old photo. Wouldn't that be nice?

And this all took place outside a custody hearing.

I understand why Weinstein came out when it did. I totally understand why Spacey came out when it did. Moore? If he’s guilty, he’s gone. Pure and simple. If it is a fraudulent charge, we’ll see.

Why say "if"?

There is as much or more proof in this story as Spacey, Weinstein and trump.

Oh, I see the pattern.

There was penetration and recent history with Spacey and Weinstein’s victims. Cut it out. This Moore allegation is 38 years old. 38:years ago America was an entirely different place.
