| I would like to see a German immersion school. |
+1 My kids are upset it's forced Spanish Fles. |
It's not my logic-- I totally agree the boundaries should be reworked (and I want my kid to go to Reed.) But what makes sense and what will happen are two different things. There's just no way they are going to go through the process again so soon, given the pain of the last round. |
Yup. Shot yourselves in the foot with that one. |

Everyone complaining about moving asked why their neighborhood was always on the chopping block. If they had a neighborhood school, they wouldn't be tossed back & forth between schools. There are positive cascading effects of opening Reed as a neighborhood school.
All of this is moot, I hope. APS needs to be working on teh HS seats and use the extra money for ES as it becomes available. |
| opening reed was the head honcho's idea. He cannot be wrong!!! Looks like HS is taking a back seat! |
That's not what I hear. |
| So, the CIP update looks like they are going to focus on HS and leave Reed for another time. |
Where do you see this? |

| They are "discussing" Reed, whatever that means. I don't think it's off the table, but it is heartening to see that they are putting their focus on the HS crisis. |

The SB asked the associations to forward an email to all. I got the email via NextDoor from my association president. It states that the decision about whether Reed is a choice or neighborhood school has not been made.
I do not believe this, but that is the party line. |
I do not believe that AT ALL. No way. |
| I think they have already decided to make Reed a choice school. A member of FAC was on a pro-neighborhood school facebook page arguing with others about how it should be a choice school. It got a bit heated and there were many posts in the discussion. The FAC member was outed by someone in another post. And she fessed up. That was pretty interesting, to say the least. |
I took German for 5 years in middle and high school and then some in college. I have traveled extensively through out Europe and never needed it. Most Germans and those who speak German in Switzerland also speak English. And I also studied some French and had a few opportunities to use it while traveling to France a few times. What I really wish I had studied was Spanish. |
